OUR NEW EXCITING HOME PROJECT IN NEW ENGLAND

I have always loved New England. I even toured it on my honeymoon when I was still living abroad. The warmth and kindness of the people, the rich history, the tasty and hearty food, and the seasons fill my heart. My husband and I have been having an ongoing conversation about moving up North in the past few months, and now it is finally happening. We found a beautiful home on the Boston Northshore. Actually, the house found us. We were just strolling around on a beautiful fall day for lunch on the coast when we saw it. There was an open house, and the moment we set foot in it, we decided it should be ours.

The home was built in 1865 and has been standing proudly on the top of a hill for 157 years. It still looks like a last-century house. There are two wings, the main house, and the servants’ wing— 17 rooms in total, 8 fireplaces, a library, a drawing room, a large garden, and woods surrounding the property. It needs a complete renovation, with some modernization, to return to its full glory. We have a long journey ahead of us, but we are ready and committed to doing it to make it our next home. Warm, cozy, but grand at the same time.

I am known for my love of glamor-style home décor. Indeed, it has to be toned down and changed a bit in such a different setting, so I am studying magazines to find inspiration for creating a new style: country glam. I will keep you posted on the development of the renovation and how this unique style takes shape!
