EERIE ELEGANCE:CRAFTING THE PERFECT EXOTIC HALLOWEEN CHARCUTERIE BOARD

Halloween is the season of mystique, but that doesn’t mean we must forfeit elegance! This year, I’ve taken the traditional charcuterie board and elevated it with a bewitching, exotic twist. With touches of Gothic glamour and ingredients as mysterious as the holiday itself, this board is designed to enchant guests and delight taste buds. Join me as I walk you through each element, from salami roses to brie ‘mummies’ and dragon fruit for a pop of the unexpected.

Setting the Scene:

A haunting charcuterie board deserves a fitting backdrop. I styled mine with an elegant black marble and polished silver skull and paired it with gleaming black-and-gold pumpkins, setting the stage for a Gothic, glam aesthetic. Black lanterns with flickering candles cast just the right amount of eerie glow, amplifying the board’s moody allure.

The Ingredients:

Here’s what you’ll need to recreate this spooky, sophisticated display:

Cheeses: A brie “mummy” complete with edible eyes adds a playful touch. I also included aged cheddar and mozzarella “ghosts” to keep with the Halloween spirit.

Cured Meats: Salami roses and prosciutto create a lush, textured look—perfect for adding depth and richness to the board.

Exotic Fruits: Dragon fruit slices and lychees bring an unexpected twist, their textures and colors adding intrigue and vibrancy.

Seasonal Favorites: Fresh figs, blackberries, and a handful of nuts (think walnuts for a rustic feel) provide seasonal warmth, while dried orange slices offer a hint of citrus and a touch of color.

Accents: To up the Halloween ante, I added glittering bat cutouts, silver details, and pops of red with pomegranate seeds scattered across the brie.

Arranging Your Board:

Creating a visually stunning charcuterie board is all about balancing colors, textures, and heights. Begin by placing your statement pieces—the skull, brie mummy, and salami roses—first. Fill in with the fruits, cheeses, and other meats, and don’t be afraid to let things overlap for a luxurious, layered effect. The dried orange slices, lychees, and walnuts add earthiness, while the dragon fruit gives a touch of the exotic.

Final Touches:

A touch of glamour goes a long way. Place a few decorative accents—like glittered bats and silver forks—to add a bit of magic. Lanterns or candles nearby. If you want to shop this post, click HERE to get to my LTK page… and here’s the video!
