About Giulia Macchia
A Life Between Heritage and Horizons
Giulia Macchia was born on the shores of Lake Como, where beauty is a birthright and elegance is in the air. Her father, a celebrated yacht designer for billionaires, sheikhs, kings, and celebrities, taught her that architecture and design are not simply professions, but ways of seeing the world. Her mother, an attorney with a formidable mind, showed her that the real art of power lay in running a grand household—closing deals not in boardrooms, but over candlelit dinners and lunches on the deck of a yacht.
From Milan to London, from Abu Dhabi before its glittering rise to Dubai at the height of its cosmopolitan glamour, from Washington, D.C. where she mingled with diplomats, to the cultural heartbeat of New York, the timeless elegance of Palm Beach, and now Boston—Giulia’s life has been defined by movement and meaning. She has also lived deeply in Japan, Africa, the Caribbean, and across Europe and the Middle East. Not as a tourist, but as a participant, immersed in people, places, and cultures.

Family, Roots + Privilege with Purpose
At the center of this globe-spanning life is her family: her husband Francesco, a pilot; her daughters, Ginevra and Allegra; and their beloved dogs, Malik and Bailey. Together they are a close-knit family who embody warmth, loyalty, and humor in equal measure.
Giulia was raised with privilege but also with the belief that privilege is inseparable from responsibility. Her parents taught her the principle of noblesse oblige: those who have more must do more. It is a philosophy she continues to live every day.
A Life of Many Hats
Giulia’s path has been anything but ordinary. Educated in the humanities—Latin, Greek, philosophy, and history of art—she combines academic depth with lived global experience. She has built and renovated 18 homes in a single decade—never merely moving, but creating, curating, and transforming each one. She knows the grit of sitting on the floor of a building site as well as the grace of dining beside royalty. She calls this the art of moving “from the stars to the stable and back again”—a reminder that true refinement is not theoretical, but lived.
She has worn more hats than most would dare to try: interior designer, real estate investor, financial investor, event designer, wedding planner, author, volunteer, flight attendant, wife, mother, etiquette expert, cultural strategist, and the founder of The Royal Box—a luxury gifting company celebrated for its creativity and success. She has run households, built companies with offices across the world, and navigated both high society and the practical demands of daily life.

Wit, Snobbery & Substance
Giulia is known for her wit—sharp, judgmental in the most delicious way, and tinged with a playful snobbery that makes people laugh even as they take notes. Renowned for her sense of humor, she delights in using it as both an icebreaker and a truth-teller, doubting anyone who takes themselves too seriously. She has little patience for pretense, name-dropping, or nouveau-riche posturing, but infinite respect for culture, discipline, and class. Her voice is both humorous and authoritative, capable of whispering high-society secrets across a crystal coupe of champagne while also reminding her audience that true elegance is rooted in character, not cost.

Philanthropy + the Arts
Giulia has always matched privilege with purpose. She volunteered on ambulances for three years, once considered medical school, and has continuously supported charitable causes. Most recently, she spearheaded The Downton Project—acquiring the largest private collection of Downton Abbey costumes. This was not only cultural preservation but also a philanthropic endeavor, benefiting children’s charities while safeguarding art for future generations.

The Finer Code
Out of this life came The Finer Code: a philosophy and way of living that places discipline, curation, and legacy above the disposable and fleeting. It teaches that refinement is not restriction but liberation, that presence matters more than pretence, and that beauty—when lived intentionally—becomes a form of empowerment.
Through The Finer Things—her book, her institute, her cultural projects, and her media platform—Giulia continues to share this message with verve, warmth, and unapologetic sparkle.
She is, quite simply, one of a kind.
