A Note
from Giulia Macchia, founder, and owner of The Finer Things
I created The Finer Things to be an artistic expression of my lifetime of experiences, both personal and professional. Growing up, my father was a yacht designer, a renowned architect, and the preferred designer for celebrities and royal families whenever they wanted a luxury yacht designed. As a result, my childhood was unusual—full of interesting international people, sophisticated parties, and many opportunities to be exposed to proper etiquette and, of course, a society with luxury as its cornerstone.
Perhaps this unique childhood inspired me to desire more out of life. As a young adult and beyond, I’ve lived in many places, such as London, Milan, New York, Miami, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai. These exposures continued to develop in me an appreciation for culture, community, and thoughtful lifestyle. Early in my career as an interior designer, I learned to transcend these elements into home design, mindfully crafting luxury within the details of a room. I’ve always believed that glamor is authentic only when inwardly inspired; otherwise, it’s garish and derived.
The Finer Things is the next step of my evolution as a lifelong designer, traveler, learner, and lover of all things beautiful. Focused on glam-style living, our company curates content that features accessible glam-focused living. What does this mean? Think DIY tablescapes, etiquette for first-time party hosts, interior design tips, and step-by-step instructions for creating gorgeous and delicious food boards. Everything we promote has that unmistakable glitter of the glamorous life without feeling over the top or unreachable. The heart behind The Finer Things is to teach others to choose what is elegant, beautiful, and mindful, everyday wherever they go.
