A TROPICAL FLOWER ARRANGEMENT WITH ORCHIDS
Recently, I hosted lunch out by the pool and created a tropical tablescape for the occasion. As a centerpiece to my design, I arranged vases of artificial orchids that look authentic. I thought that these flowers would be perfect for a tropical, outdoor party because their petals and stems are stunning as they cascade downwards from the vase. This cascading effect is luscious and luxurious and is exactly something I would expect to see on a tropical vacation.

You’ll notice that one of the first steps I take in the arrangement is to line the interior of the hurricane candle holders with a dark green ribbon. This ribbon masks the stems of the artificial flowers. Even better, when peering through the curtain of the orchids, the ribbon looks just like a tropical leaf! This clever technique is one that I use often.
