A SPLENDID ROSE BOUQUET BECOMES A FANTASTIC CENTERPIECE
When I received these beautiful garden roses from Grace Rose Farms, I was mesmerized by their beauty. The deep red color, the velvety texture, and the size of the blooms make these roses intriguing, sexy, and luxuriously baroque! So, I decided to create an entire tablescape around them, The Vampire’s Feast . If you wish to buy these beautiful flowers, use the code THE.FINER.THINGS._20 to get a 20% discount!
This centerpiece is pretty easy to make. You need the following:
- 2 pieces of wet floral foam
- 2 long bamboo skewers
- About 35 roses
- 4 black ostrich feathers
Immerse the foam in a bowl of water. It must absorb the water well. Tie the two pieces of foam together using bamboo skewers. This is a super easy trick, but it will keep your foam in place even if you move it around. Remove the thorns and leaves from the roses, gently open them a little, passing the finger between the petals, cut them short (1 inch), and start placing them in the foam. I started from the sides and worked my way up to the top. Once every part of the foam is covered, you can insert the feathers on the top, a little on the side. I usually use the feathers on my centerpieces as milliners use them on hats and fascinators, so they are a bit off-center to give them a flirty twist. Since the foam is wet, place a plate (I used a small gold melamine one) underneath so you don’t ruin the tablecloth. I placed it at the center of the table, but in the following days, I put it on a gold cake stand, and it looked so good! These roses adorned my dining room for many days. They blossom a day or two after they arrive so that you will enjoy them for a long time!
