CREATE A FRESH AND FRAGRANT SUMMER TABLESCAPE FOR YOUR PATIO PARTY
This summer, I cannot get enough of lemons! Not only are they fresh, fragrant, and delicious, but they are also versatile design elements that I love to incorporate into centerpieces. For a recent get-together, I designed a tablescape around bright, summery yellow lemons.
Here’s how:
- I began with a clean white tablecloth topped with a black and white table runner. You can see how the darkness of the black stripe contrasts beautifully with the rest of the bright yellow and white elements.
For the table setting, I started with neutral-colored woven chargers. I think this choice is necessary in a design like this to provide a bit of visual reprieve from the repetition of black, white, and yellow. In addition, as this is an outdoor party, the natural look of the charger fits well with the environment.
In the rest of the table setting, I wove in my three main colors, choosing soft, black silken napkins, white dinner plates, and yellow salad plates. My favorite gold brushed silverware with white handles fit perfectly, and I had a bit of fun finding those adorable yellow wine glasses.
- Finally, let’s talk about my centerpiece. As I wanted the lemons to stand as the focal point, I chose only colors that would compliment the lemons and not draw the eyes away. Therefore, I decided not to include any greenery and instead arranged white micro flowers and similarly colored yellow flowers to surround the citrus fruits.
Isn’t the final effect stunning? Who would have thought that lemons could play such an important role in a tablescape!
