5 TIERS CHARCUTERIE BOARD INSPIRED BY A STILL-NATURE PAINTING

Who says that a charcuterie board has to be on a board? I always look for unusual vessels when I create flower arrangements and do the same for food displays. The reason why sometimes the food is so attractive at weddings and other events, it’s because it is displayed following a theme, playing with different heights, and adding unexpected touches. These days there are tiered trays everywhere because we are so close to the holidays. I purchased three of four that are very large so that I can experiment a bit. This is the first one of my trials…what do you think?

I wanted a late autumn flair, almost a still art with fruits and flowers. I chose several kinds of cheese. Goat cheese and flavored goat cheese with herbs and berries. Basil-flavored cheddar and Manchego. Italian Gorgonzola, which is a kind of sweeter blue cheese. I also used two wheels of brie.

FRUIT FOR CHARCUTERIE BOARD

The charcuterie is Parma Ham, and salame. In Italy, we call it salame with the e and not the i! I added rye, fig crackers, and various chocolate-covered nuts to fill the gaps. Since the inspiration for me was a painting of still art, I used some of the fruit for decoration only. I sliced the apples and pears and cut in quarters the pomegranate because I wanted them to stand out on the tray.

I added grapes, blueberries, and chocolate-covered strawberries. I placed some gorgeous roses as decoration on each tier. I am pleased about it, and I am already thinking about some variations on the theme for Christmas!
